God present and working in Creation invites our mystic self to ‘come to a quiet place’ – to rest in cosmic love and renew for the great work of our time. The story of Earth, with the current unraveling of the intricate web of life; the story of our cosmos and our humbling yet radical interconnectedness with the ongoing processes of Creation; and our particular cultural story being written by ‘the growing consciousness’ of our time; all of this calls Christians to ‘retreat’ into new depths of reflection and contemplation, truth and wisdom, healing, compassion and faith.
Take a closer look at the person of Jesus who experienced God’s Creation as a source of grace, as an inspiration for his teachings, and as a chosen place to pray. Christian mystics, past and contemporary, gift us with a legacy of Creation-centered wisdom and inspiration.
