Seton Spirituality Centre is named after a remarkable woman, Elizabeth Seton, founder of the Sisters of Charity in North America in 1809. She was a wife and widow, mother of five children, founder of a new community of religious women, and a teacher and administrator. Through the many experiences of her life, she was sustained by a strong faith expressed in passionate dedication to family, friends and service to those in material need, or in need of education. She was canonized a saint of the Catholic Church in 1975. This program will give you an overview of her life, and introduce you to her rich spirituality.

September 14 – Elizabeth’s biography in film, and her spiritual journey from youth through widowhood.

October 19 – Elizabeth’s spiritual journey as an educator and religious founder, and her legacy and spirit in our time.

“Faith lifts the staggering soul on one side, hope supports it on the other. Experience says it must be, and Love says – let it be.” Words of Elizabeth Seton.
